SEPTEMBER 24, 2019 — NEW CASTLE, INDIANA —Tia Link, who performed in no less than a half-dozen films last year, is known for bringing out the unexplored strengths and vulnerabilities of the characters she plays.
The New York-trained actor is looking forward to the challenge of playing the title role of “Rosie’s Rescue,” a new short film scheduled for principal photography starting October 7 of this year in and around New Castle, Indiana.
“Rosie is a young woman who survived a difficult childhood only to be plunged into her biggest crisis yet,” says Link, who relocated from New York to Indianapolis. “My goal is to bring the audience along on Rosie’s journey so they can share in the self-discoveries she makes.”
In addition to Link, Octave Films has also announced the casting of Eric Olson, Sherryl Despres, Molly Garner, and Charity Dehmer. All are seasoned veterans of stage and screen, with acting experience that covers everything from movies to New York theatre to major national tours.
Terry Weston Marsh, the writer and director of the film, says credit for the outstanding lineup goes to Scott Allen Tucker, owner of the Indianapolis-based Talent Fusion agency, who casts a wide net when trying to find the perfect actor for each part. Tucker is an actor himself who brings insider knowledge to his job as casting director.
Will Rosie find the answers she so desperately seeks? Link won’t reveal any plot twists, but she says, “I can tell you that there are some surprises along the way, and I think you’ll find the film is ultimately very moving and inspiring.”
